REFLECTION QUESTIONS
1. Nehemiah refused to come down from the work God had called him to do. What distractions most often pull your attention away from what God has called you to in this season of life? What would it look like to practically say, “I am doing a great work and I cannot come down”?
2. Public pressure and fear of what others think can quietly shape our are you most tempted to compromise, stay silent, or seek approval instead of faithfully obeying God? How can we encourage one another to stand firm in truth?
3. False piety often sounds spiritual while leading us away from obedience to God’s Word. What forms of false piety are most tempting to you? How can we grow in discernment so we recognize truth from error?
4. Throughout the chapter, Nehemiah responds with prayer and trust in God instead of panic or revenge. When distractions, accusations, or fears arise in your life, what is your typical response? What would it look like this week to pray, “O God, strengthen my hands,” and trust God with the outcome?
