The Dangerous Path of Sin

Feb 22, 2026    Dr. Ben Day, Senior Pastor

1. Think about the choices David makes in this story, where do you see the early warning signs that he was starting down a dangerous path? What are some comparable warning signs in your own life that signal vulnerability or spiritual drift?

2. Sin often snowballs and brings you to a place you never thought that you would be. Can you think of a time when a small compromise led to larger consequences—either in your own life or someone you’ve observed? What might faithfulness have looked like earlier in that situation?

3. We need to avoid areas of temptation rather than always assuming we’re strong enough to handle them. What are specific situations, habits, or seasons of life where you know you need clearer boundaries or greater vigilance right now?

4. David’s refusal to confess quickly led to deeper sin and greater damage. What usually makes it hard for you to confess sin promptly—fear, pride, shame, or something else? What practical steps can help you move toward quicker confession and greater dependence on God’s grace?
