"And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children." Deuteronomy 6:5-7 (ESV)

The goal of firstKIDS ministry is to partner with parents in teaching children to have a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior.  Our mission is threefold:

To always keep children safe and secure

To encourage and assist parents in their role as the primary disciplers of their children

To teach God's Word to the children while at church!

Sunday preschool

Leader: Megan fraser

"Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6 (NAS)

We provide care and classes for infants, toddlers, and preschool - Kindergarten age children during both the 9:15 hour and the 10:30 service. Children may be dropped off at any time after 9:00am.

We use a curriculum that is Biblically sound, age appropriate, and relevant to the lives of the littlest members of our church family. Take home pages are distributed each Sunday for reinforcement at home. All of our children's ministry volunteers receive a background check before working with us.

Babies Class (Birth - 18 months)

Security and safety are a high priority and close attention is given to parents' requests and suggestions for care of their child. Volunteers demonstrate Christ's love through cuddling, soothing, and playing with these precious little ones and integrate care with age appropriate Bible stories and songs.

Toddlers, Twos Class (18 months - 2 years)

In this class, security and safety continue to be a high priority. Bible story activities include centers, songs, and crafts that reinforce the theme from the lesson.

Older Preschool Class (3 years - Pre K)

At this age level foundational truths begin to take root in the hearts and minds of children. Each Bible lesson is reinforced with activities in music, art, puzzles, blocks, and role play. Bible memory verses are also introduced.

Kindergarten Class (Kindergarten)

These children are beginning to learn letters and other reading skills, so in addition to music, crafts, and blocks, some activities that emphasize the written Word of God are used.

(A "Family Room" with live video of the service is also available for nursing moms and children who

need an alternative space.)

Sunday Elementary

leaderS: Stephanie Goeke and susan busch

Elementary age children are invited to join growthKIDS each Sunday at 9:15am. They also participate in the beginning of our 10:30am worship service and then are dismissed to go to their classes (at about 11:00am). All of our children's programs are taught by volunteer leaders that have a passion to see children grow in their knowledge of God.

We use a curriculum that is Biblically sound, age appropriate, and relevant to the lives of elementary age kids. As our vision is to partner with families in discipleship, weekly we discuss with families what we are learning together to encourage discipleship and reinforcement of truths learned at church.

growthKIDS -- 9:15am

This is an hour that focuses on discipleship that is uniquely designed for elementary age students (through 5th grade). The focus of this time is to look deeper at the stories we are working through in firstKIDS (i.e. timeline, maps, & location in the Bible). We work on Bible study skills, Scripture memorization, and discuss aspects of discipleship. Children have the opportunity to learn about God's Word in a way that is both age appropriate and fun!!  growthKIDS meet each week that Growth Courses are scheduled (see current schedule under Ministries - Growth Courses).

firstKIDS -- during 10:30am service after worship

Early Elementary - 1st/2nd grades

Upper Elementary - 3rd-5th grades

In these elementary classes a high emphasis is placed on Bible teaching and on being sensitive to the spiritual needs and development of each child. Memory verse activities, games, and crafts are used to help reinforce Bible truths.

5th Sundays

Elementary firstKIDS do not meet on the occasional 5th Sunday. Children 1st - 5th grade will remain in the worship service with their parents. This is an opportunity for these children to participate with the rest of the congregation in the entire worship service.
